On Saturday, the lounge, dining room and underground at The Drake Hotel came alive with The Wedding Co‘s Spring Wedding Show. This was the first event of this style – where indie meets couture – a one day event showcasing 40 unique, chic & edgy wedding vendors.

I have been working with Catherine on this event for the past couple of months and as always, it was wonderful to watch her vision come alive. These wedding professionals are so creative, talented, unique and absolutely fabulous – I just cannot say enough about them. I had a moment to capture a few images – sadly, my camera battery died before I could make it all the way around the venue. From Top to Bottom: the chalkboard entrance; the transformed lounge space; Loic Gourmet; Ecstatic Accessory Designs; Cecelia Hayes; Papillion Press; Little Party Goers; Avril Loreti; view of the dining room & the beautiful Carla Naylor, Faces By Carla.

This collaboration between Laura K Designs, Allyson Meredith Cakes and Bobbette & Belle features a table display that demonstrates the possibilities of creating a theme by carrying the motif from the invitation onto the cake, table decor and favours. Beautiful!

Not a visitor could resist this display – Naughty Cakes by Konstadin. This lovely lady is talented beyond belief and it shows that she had a lot of fun creating some ‘edgy’ pieces to exhibit at this show. These cakes are great for bachelorette parties and stags.

What a truly fun and inspiring event! I unfortunately did not have enough time as I would have liked to shop but I got some fabulous ideas and will definitely be sourcing out many of these vendors for accessories, favours, decor, sweets, treats and more in the future! Well done to all who exhibited and as always – a pleasure working with you!

After a successful 9th Wedding Show, The Wedding Co. hosted a wrap-up party with the exhibitors at The Drake Hotel. It was great to relax and mingle with all the amazing people from The Show. Piers at Third From The Sun provided high-energy tunes while Grenville Pinto arrived dressed as MJ to perform a few classic hits.

Here’s a photo of me with Sara Dell (Pianist-extraordinaire, middle) and Catherine Lash (The Wedding Co, right). Thanks to Sara for sending this fun pic!

If you have not consumed food from The Drake Hotel – I highly recommend you visit them. They are fashioning some INCREDIBLE eats and treats. My favourite item of the night were these petit, delicious pecan tarts with maple-infused cotton candy and gold flakes – YUMMY!!!

Sooooo many beautiful things were featured at The Wedding Show this past weekend at The Carlu. It was an immense pleasure to be part of such an inspiring and elegant show. I have been attending this show for 5 years and been fortunate to be a part of it for the last 3 years and this was by far – the BEST show I have ever been to. The participants went over and beyond to display their extraordinary talent, creations and imagination. Here are a few tidbits from The Show:

Over the past year, I have had the great pleasure of being part of The Wedding Co. team. I have personally been working on the 2010 Wedding Show – an exquisite wedding show like no other in Toronto. And, I am immensely excited to see it unfold and come to life over the next couple of days.

The boutique-inspired show begins on Friday at 5 PM at The Carlu where 115 hand-selected wedding professionals inspire ideas to help you create your ideal celebration.

I am looking forward to catching up with this wonderful community of vendors as well as gathering ideas with Scott for our wedding celebration.

Tickets are $20.00 at the door or you can subscribe to The Daily News and receive a $3.00 off voucher. Details at The Wedding Co.
